The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra invited to the prestigious contest in China honoring Aram Khachaturian

An international contest in honor of composer Aram Khachatryan’s 120th anniversary is currently taking place in China for the first time. The competition is being organized by a partnership between the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation, Chinese authorities, Beijing Municipality, and the Beijing National Opera Theater.
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra has been invited by the Chinese side to accompany the musicians who have passed the final stage of the competition. Sergey Smbatyan, a renowned conductor and Founding Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, and Artistic Director of the Khachaturian International Competition, has emphasized China’s highly desirable market. Success in China is considered a great strength of the orchestra, the foundation, and the collective character of Aram Khachatryan. Smbatyan regards this achievement as the most significant for the year.
