Tiger-themed exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing

The tiger symbolises bravery and power in Chinese culture. Tigers have been a popular theme in Chinese paintings. On the 25th of January the tiger-themed exhibition was held at China’s National Museum, Beijing.
Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum inaugurated an exhibit to present its tiger art collection for the Lunar New Year.
The upcoming Year of the Tiger in the Chinese lunar calendar will mark the 350th anniversary of Rongbao Zhai, a time-honoured brand known for its paintings and calligraphy in Beijing. Rongbao Zhai opened an exhibit of its collection of tiger-themed paintings and some other works on the Chinese New Year.
To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Tiger and the 50th anniversary of the reestablishment of Sino-Japan diplomatic relations, the Shanghai Museum is holding an exhibit showing eight tiger-themed works of art from its permanent collection and that of the Kyushu National Museum of Japan.
