Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Releases Landmark Publication in Chinese
YEREVAN, December 5, 2025 — The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute announced today the release of its official pictorial reference book in the Chinese language. This significant publication will allow visitors from China to learn about the history of the Armenian Genocide in their native language. The pictorial book contains valuable historical facts, press materials, and unique photographs, serving as a comprehensive resource. The Museum-Institute expressed its gratitude to Bryusov State University for the translation work and to its Chinese partners for their editorial collaboration. This new edition is an important step in promoting the historical truth of the Armenian Genocide across different languages and in strengthening Armenian-Chinese cultural relations.
The Armenian Genocide refers to the systematic destruction and mass deportation of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Beginning in 1915, an estimated 1.5 million Armenians perished as a result of killings, forced marches, and starvation. The event is widely recognized by historians as a genocide. On the international political stage, 34 United Nations member states, including the Republic of Armenia, have formally recognized the events as genocide through parliamentary resolutions, executive statements, or court rulings. This history is a foundational element of modern Armenian identity, and its remembrance is central to the mission of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan.
