Armenian Heritage Through Taraz Presented in Suzhou at SSFLS Autumn Sports Meet 2025

On October 22, 2025, the Suzhou Science and Technology City Foreign Language School (SSFLS) held the vibrant Opening Ceremony for its annual Autumn Sports Meet. This much-anticipated event is a brilliant display of the school’s international spirit, bringing together its community of almost 100 foreign teachers from around the globe.
The ceremony was a spectacular fusion of athletics and global culture. A key highlight was the parade of nations, where each foreign teacher proudly represented their home country.
Representing Armenia was Lucy Gasparyan, a teacher at SSFLS. She made a striking impression by wearing a complete and authentic Armenian taraz ensemble, provided by ChinArmArt. Her meticulously crafted Yerevan-style attire—featuring a voluminous dress adorned with intricate floral ornaments, a traditional headdress, and a stylized apron—beautifully showcased Armenia’s rich heritage and captivated the entire audience of Chinese and foreign guests.
Following the parade, the celebration continued with a joyful program of collaborative games, songs, and dances performed together by the foreign teachers, truly embodying the school’s spirit of cross-cultural friendship and unity.
