The Armenian-Lebanese fashion designer gaining popularity among Chinese celebrities
The internationally renowned Armenian-Lebanese fashion designer is gaining prominence within the circle of Chinese celebrities. Krikor Jabotian, who established his eponymous couture house in 2009 at the young age of 23, has dedicated his efforts to creating elaborate designs showcasing refined craftsmanship and employing various forms of hand embroidery. He is particularly recognized for his opulent embroideries on tulle, the artful arrangement of pearls, and his adept use of the sarma technique, an ancient Oriental embellishment involving the use of metal threads, symbolizing his Armenian heritage.
Noteworthy among his recent ventures is the creation of an extravagant red silk gown worn by the Chinese actress Ni Ni at the Douyin Movie Wonder Night event. Ni Ni celebrated for her portrayal of Yu Mo in the 2011 film “The Flowers of War” directed by Zhang Yimou, and for her role as Ling Xi in the 2019 television series “Love and Destiny,” holds the distinction of being acknowledged as one of the “New Four Dan Actresses” by the Southern Metropolis Daily. Her popularity among the Chinese youth attests to her esteemed status as an actress.
It’s worth mentioning that Qiu Tian, another well-known Chinese model and actress, attended the red carpet in Shanghai, China, on November 6, 2022, in a vintage blue Krikor Jabotian gown graced by a silky romantic bow accompanied by a dramatic bolero.
