The first academic conference on Armenian Studies in China paving the way for upcoming fruitful cooperations
The first academic conference on Armenian Studies held in China and organized by Binzhou University, Beijing Fanoa Investment Co., Ltd, and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia proved to be a remarkable accomplishment, uniting esteemed scholars and intellectuals from both China and Armenia, who were representing Renmin University of China, Beijing University, Nanjing University, Shanghai Foreign Languages University, Shandong University, Northeast Normal University, Tianjin Normal University, Binzhou University, and other major institutions. The program encompassed a diverse range of subjects spanning various research fields, such as the historical evolution of Armenology, linguistic studies investigating the origins of the Armenian language, Urartu archaeology, and Urartology, the analysis of key historical events, Japanese-Armenian socio-political interactions, references to China and Chinese people in Armenian sources, Sino-Armenian historical and artistic interrelations, etc.
The speakers were comprised of highly regarded Chinese intellectuals and academics, as well as up-and-coming scholars with unique perspectives and inventive approaches.
The Armenian Ambassador to China, Sergey Manassarian, emphasized the importance of promoting Armenian culture and history through events and gatherings. He acknowledged that the Armenian people are currently facing challenges and believes that organizing such events can help bring attention to their unique cultural identity and creative spirit.
