Ancient Chinese bronzeware exhibited in Hunan
Bronzeware is a significant carrier of Chinese culture. To trace its development, the Hunan Museum is exhibiting bronze artworks assembled from Chinese museums and presented in four pavilions.
Among the intriguing exhibited artefacts are the bronze gui tureen with horse design that was once used as a sacrificial container ( Western Zhou Dynasty, c.11th century-771 BCE), also the bronze square ding vessel with human face motif, conveying the idea of combination of kingship and theocracy (Shang Dynasty, c.16th century-11th century BCE).
