The new exhibition at Nanjing Normal University showcases Chinese artists’ view of Russia
The group exhibition of the works of Nanjing Normal University Fine Arts Faculty teachers, professors, and students who have visited either the Soviet Union or the Russian Federation and have captured the beauty of Russia in their artworks, hosted at the Art Gallery of NNU, has opened its doors to the audience on November 23.
The various generations of the Soviet Union and Russian artists have played a significant role in the history of the development of Chinese oil painting through their stylistic innovations and themes. The present exhibition comes to prove that the Russian landscapes, people, and artistic spirit are still a source of inspiration for Chinese artistic circles.
The exhibition showcases 85 artworks in total, the majority of the works are oil paintings.
